A word on the Writer's Background

The writer of this overview was educated in Munich, Germany and apprenticed as a retail bookseller there. Her first contact with German literature was in the public school system and yielded a sufficient amount of information on Schiller to provide to her a good basis for her further attendance of German literature and History of Germany literature courses during her occupational training. The preparation of a basic time table and the framework for the background information on Schiller arose mainly out of her memory of her basic German education on that subject, so that the literature listed below was used to corroborate this information and/or to provide a source for direct quotations.
